When Japan’s Air Defense History Stood Side by Side at Chitose Air Base

この光景を見るためだけに、私は広島から北海道・千歳へ向かった。

Seeing these aircraft together was more than attending an air show.
It was a rare moment where history, legacy, and farewell stood side by side.

*I joined the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1979 and was assigned to Chitose the following year.
At that time, the aircraft flying over this base were the F-104 and the Phantom.

That is why being able to see them one last time meant so much to me.*
